We are as excited as you to start welcoming new volunteers for this year’s festival!
Let the weather be the only surprise this season! âď¸đ¨đŚ Please carefully read each job description that interests you to see the job expectations and requirements.

Volunteers can only register for one crew. New shifts are added often, check back for your desired shifts.
BEVERAGE SERVICES (18+)
If you think that nothing beats the combination of crisp, cold beverages and live music, join our Beverage Services team to meet other enthusiastic volunteers who share that passion!
This department is responsible for taking, processing and delivering drink orders in a timely manner to our parched patrons. With multiple locations and countless beverage options throughout the festival site, every shift is a new experience!
Beer Tents (18+)
Are you quick on your feet and like staying on your toes? Do you work well with others and excel at two-way communication with a variety of other team members? If you answered âYES!â to all of these questions, join our Beer Tents team where youâll sign up to sling suds and other cool refreshments for our thirsty patrons.

Beverage Cashiers (18+)
Do you have Smart Serve AND a finely-tuned set of observation skills? Can you find the line between firm and fair? Then weâve got a place for you on the Cashiers team, where youâll ensure our festival-goers get their ice cold beverages in an orderly manner!

CUSTOMER CARE (14-17)(18+)
Are you a problem-solver who is amped to be on the frontlines at the festival? Are you all about making people’s experiences as smooth as possible? If so, join our Customer Care team and support festival-goers by assisting them with their questions and special requests, and providing them with the directions they need to fully enjoy the festival and all its amenities!
Gates (14 - 17 ONLY, 18+ IS FULL)
Always wanted to be at the front-line of a giant festival? If you are a natural leader whoâs calm in the face of chaos, consider the Gates team, and welcome our guests into this great festival!

FESTIVAL OPERATIONS (14-17) (18+)
Seeing thousands of people a day means that CityFolk is among Ottawaâs biggest and most anticipated music festivals! Because the festival is such a huge operation that requires a lot of collaboration and teamwork, our Festival Operations department is an essential team in keeping the festival running smoothly.
If youâre ready to be part of the festivalâs backbone and do some heavy lifting, both literally and figuratively, come join the department that all other departments depend on: Festival Operations!
Green Team (14+)
Are you green-minded? If so, this crew is for you! As an integral part of the festivalâs green initiatives, this
crew acts as environmental ambassadors for the festival by working hard to keep the festival clean of
garbage, managing our recycling and composting programs, and spreading the green message.

FUNDRAISING (14+)
We do good things, youâve probably heard this before and itâs because itâs true! Our own charity, Folk in the Schools, offers the opportunity for students of all ages to engage in multidisciplinary, whole-language learning using the study of music, math, language arts, history, anthropology, and sociology in a hands-on approach celebrating creative self-expression. By bringing the Folk genre into the classroom, students are exposed to these traditional subjects, while breaking down racial barriers and opening dialogue about cultural diversity. If you are someone social, interested in the cause and wanting to get a hand at marketing, this is your department!
50/50 RAFFLE (14+)
Were you born to roam the fields of CityFolk? Do you want to help us raise money for our music education initiatives? If so, the 50/50 Raffle team needs your energy and enthusiasm to sell tickets and make this yearâs draw a success!

VOLUNTEER SUPPORT (14+)
If you’re a team-player, ready to create a welcoming and comfortable environment for other enthusiastic volunteers, and prepared to be the first-point of contact for hundreds of volunteers, check out our Volunteer Support department!
The goal of this department is to support the rest of our awesome volunteer teams and ensure they have all the tools and resources they need to succeed onsite, whatever their assigned tasks and responsibilities may be!
Volunteer Check-In (14-17) (18+) **new**
The Volunteer Check-In, located in the Horticulture Building at Lansdowne Park, is the pre-shift check-in area for all volunteers. Volunteers must check-in before the start of each shift receiving a food voucher, volunteer t-shirt, and accreditation to gain access to the festival.

FLOATERS (14-17) (18+)
This is a great place to start for new volunteers as itâs a taste of a bunch of different crews! This crew is essential as it supports all other crews onsite that are short-handed at various points during the festival. Sometimes the crew will be very busy while at other times, there may be a bit of waiting for the next assignment.
