National Volunteer Week 2015

Happy National Volunteer Week to all of our volunteers!

As the week draws to a close, your friendly neighbourhood Volunteer Services team thought we’d give you a heads up about all the volunteer goings-on. So without further ado, here’s the newsfest about Bluesfest:

The countdown is on for Early Bird registration! Volunteers in good standing from 2014 will receive their Early Bird Invitation on Monday, May 4th and registration will open on Tuesday, May 5th @ 7:00 PM―and not a moment sooner! Early Bird closes on Monday, May 11th @ 7:00 PM, so make a note on your calendar.

Public registration opens online on Wednesday, May 13th @ 7:00 PM―again, not a moment sooner!―and is on a first-come, first-served basis. Please review the job descriptions ahead of time, so you know exactly what area you want to sign up for, and so you’re aware of all the duties and requirements of that area. Where might you find these job descriptions, you ask? Well…

…Right here on our BRAND-NEW VOLUNTEER WEBSITE, that’s where! The new home for all things volunteer-related is In addition to our detailed job descriptions, you’ll also find our FAQs, Code of Conduct & Harassment Policy, and a sneak-peek at our 2015 Volunteer Handbook. There’s also a new Youth section that highlights all of the details and need-to-know info for 15-17 year old volunteers and their parents. The festival’s an excellent opportunity for all the high-schoolers out there to make a dent in their volunteer hour requirement while getting a little sun, so take a look at what opportunities are available. And if after checking out the website you have any questions, feel free to email us at

Since a message during National Volunteer Week wouldn’t be complete without sending a GIGANTIC thank you to all of our volunteers―past, present & future―for all of their hard work, whether done, doing, or still to-do, THANK YOU!

We look forward to seeing you at RBC Bluesfest!
